Boxerium Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

This is the privacy policy for Boxerium (the "App"), a boxing round-timer application for iOS and Android developed by Ethelium ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information stored only on your device. Boxerium stores the following data locally on your device (in your operating system's standard app preferences storage — NSUserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:

  • Workouts you create (round counts, durations, combo lists, favorites, beat-clap patterns, sequence settings)
  • Your in-app settings (selected voice, sound preferences, per-sound volumes, custom callouts toggle, kickboxing techniques toggle, advanced tools toggle)
  • Your purchase status for Boxerium Premium

Information stored in your account (optional). Boxerium works fully without an account. If you choose to sign in — with an email address and password, or with Google — we create an account so your progress can sync across devices and appear on leaderboards. The following is then stored on Google Firebase rather than only on your device: your account identifier and sign-in email address, your chosen fighter handle and display name, your workout and progress data, your cosmetic unlocks, and your leaderboard and Fight hub results. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from the App's Settings screen, or via the account deletion page.

Information collected by third parties. Boxerium uses the following third-party services that may collect information about your use of the App:

  • Unity Ads (Unity / ironSource) — used to display a small banner advertisement during workouts and a single full-screen advertisement at the end of a workout session, in either case only when you do not have Boxerium Premium. Unity Ads may collect device identifiers (the Apple Advertising Identifier / IDFA on iOS, the Google Advertising ID / AAID on Android), IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and ad-interaction data. See Unity's privacy policy at unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy.
  • Google Firebase — used for the optional account described above. Boxerium uses Firebase Authentication (sign-in), Cloud Firestore (your synced data), Cloud Functions and App Check (server logic and abuse prevention), Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports) and Firebase Analytics (aggregate usage statistics). Crash and analytics data is tied to an app-generated identifier, not to your name. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and Firebase's data disclosures at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
  • Apple (StoreKit / App Store) — on iOS, used to process the Boxerium Premium subscription. Apple receives standard purchase metadata; we receive an anonymous receipt confirming the subscription is active. We never receive your name, email, payment details, or Apple ID. See Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
  • Google Play Billing — on Android, used to process the Boxerium Premium subscription. Google receives standard purchase metadata; we receive an anonymous receipt confirming the subscription is active. We never receive your name, email, payment details, or Google account information. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not collect, store, or have access to your contacts, photos, microphone audio, precise location, or any other personal data beyond what is described above. Beyond the crash reporting and aggregate analytics noted for Firebase, Boxerium includes no behavioural-tracking or ad-attribution SDK, and we never sell your data.

Advertising controls

  • iOS — App Tracking Transparency. On first launch on iOS 14.5 and later, Boxerium will ask whether you allow us (via Unity Ads) to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. You may choose Allow or Ask App Not to Track — both options let you use the App fully. If you allow tracking, Unity Ads may use your IDFA to serve more relevant ads. If you do not, Unity Ads will serve only contextual advertising. You can change this decision at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Boxerium.
  • Android — Advertising ID. You can reset or limit Unity Ads' use of your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. On Android 13 and later you may also delete the Advertising ID entirely; Unity Ads will then serve only contextual advertising.

Children

Boxerium is intended for ages 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The advertisements served by Unity Ads are configured for general audiences.

Your choices and rights

  • Remove ads — subscribe to Boxerium Premium inside the App's Settings screen to stop both banner and end-of-workout advertisements entirely (and stop Unity Ads from collecting ad-related data). Manage or cancel any time via your platform's standard subscription settings (iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Android: Play Store → Account → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).
  • Reset local data — uninstall the App from your device. All locally stored workouts and settings are removed.
  • Delete your account — if you signed in, you can delete your account and all synced data from the App's Settings screen, or follow the steps on the account deletion page.
  • Ad data deletion — reset or delete your Advertising ID via your device settings as described above, which detaches future advertising data from your device.
  • EU / UK / California users — if you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK-GDPR / CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data held about you. If you hold a Boxerium account, contact us at the email below and we will access, correct, or delete the data we hold about you. Requests about advertising data should be directed to Unity, and requests about purchase data to Apple or Google (see the links above).

Data security

Communication between the App and the third-party services listed above is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Locally stored workouts and settings are protected by your device's standard app sandboxing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in an in-app notice on next launch.
