Why can I not check in at a court?
Checking in requires you to actually be at the court — within about 150 metres of it. That is deliberate: "who is here right now" is only useful if it is true. If the app cannot get a location fix at all it will let you check in anyway rather than lock you out.
The map is empty, or shows the wrong city.
Hooperium starts in Auckland, New Zealand — every court on the map is there for now. If you open the app from anywhere else it centres on Auckland and tells you so, rather than showing you an empty map of your own city. If your court is missing, tap the + button on the map to request it.
How do I add a court that is missing?
Tap the + button on the right of the map, name the court and send it. Courts are reviewed before they appear, so that scores and rankings stay attached to real places. You can also suggest corrections to a court that already exists — lights, hoops, surface — from that court's page.

Why does a ranked match need two phones?
Before a match affects anyone's rating, both phones confirm over Bluetooth that you are physically together, and both players independently report the final score. That is the whole anti-cheat: it is what stops people inventing wins. It also means you cannot complete a ranked match on your own.
We reported different scores. What happens?
The match goes to disputed and nobody's rating moves. From there:
- Either of you can resubmit. As soon as the two scores match, the result goes through normally.
- You can assign a referee — someone who was not playing. Their score decides it.
- If nothing happens for 15 minutes, the match is voided and no rating changes.
One thing to know: once a match is disputed, the next report that still does not match voids it for good. Agree on the score with your opponent before resubmitting.
What does a referee do?
When you challenge someone you can name a third person, from whoever else is checked in at that court, to call the score. Your opponent agrees to them by accepting the challenge. The referee's report decides the match and beats both players. They do not have to report for the match to finish — if you both agree on the score, that stands.
My match is stuck.
Matches clean themselves up. A handshake that never completed is voided after an hour, a live match with no scores after 30 minutes, and a dispute after 15. Nothing stuck stays stuck, and a voided match never changes anyone's rating.

How do I report or block someone?
Tap the ⋯ next to any player and choose Report or Block. Reports are private — the person you reported is not told who filed it. Blocking hides them from you and stops them challenging you; they are not told either. You can unblock from Settings.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete my account. It is permanent. Your profile, handle, check-ins, sessions and cosmetics are removed and you can no longer sign in. Matches you played stay on record against "Deleted player", because the people you played deserve to keep an honest history and their ratings were calculated against those games. Is my location shared?
Only as a court check-in, and only while the app is open. Other players can see that you are at a court until your check-in expires. Your precise position is never shared, and there is no background tracking.
