Cleaning leads from local Facebook and Neighbourly posts
People post in community groups when they need a cleaner for a reason that will not wait: a bond inspection, visitors landing tomorrow, or a house that has got away from them. Those tend to be good jobs, since the poster usually wants someone soon rather than doing it themselves. We watch Facebook groups, Neighbourly, Reddit and job boards across New Zealand for these requests and email you the ones matching your suburbs and job types, with a link to the original post.
Cleaning leads: the posts we look for
- Facebook group
Does anyone know a reliable cleaner for an end of tenancy clean in Papakura this week?
- Neighbourly
Looking for someone to do a deep clean before my in-laws visit, based in Tauranga.
- Reddit
Can anyone recommend a cleaner for a fortnightly house clean in Lower Hutt?
- Job board
Need a once-off clean after a renovation in Hamilton, flexible on timing.

Which cleaning jobs we send you
Jobs we watch for
- End of tenancy cleans. Posts asking for a bond or exit clean before a property inspection.
- Regular house cleans. People wanting a weekly or fortnightly cleaner for an ongoing arrangement.
- Once-off deep cleans. Requests for a single thorough clean, often before visitors or an event.
- Post-renovation cleans. Dust and debris cleans after building or renovation work finishes.
- Short-term rental turnovers. Hosts asking for a cleaner between guest stays, usually on a tight turnaround.
Posts we leave out
- Office or commercial tenders. Businesses asking for formal quotes on an ongoing commercial contract, not a one-off residential job.
- Carpet-only requests. Posts specifically asking for carpet steam cleaning, which is a separate trade.
- Free or swap requests. Posts asking for a free clean or an exchange of services rather than paid work.
These are starting points. You tell us exactly what you want and what to skip.

Winning cleaning jobs from a post
- Lead with availability. Say plainly which days you can do the job, since timing is often the deciding factor for the poster.
- Ask the size and condition upfront. A quick question about rooms, pets or how dirty the property is lets you quote accurately in your first reply.
- Mention relevant experience briefly. A short line about doing bond cleans or regular rounds in that suburb reassures the poster without padding the reply.
When cleaning posts come up
Requests tend to pick up around the end of each month, when tenancies change over and bond cleans are needed quickly. Summer brings a run of visitor-related cleans before Christmas and over the school holidays, and short-term rental hosts post more often in the warmer months when bookings increase. Late autumn and winter are quieter, though regular house-clean requests continue year round.

Cleaning leads questions
Do I need to be a registered cleaning business to sign up?
No. Lead alerts works for sole operators and small teams. You tell us the suburbs and job types you cover and we email you matching posts.
Can I limit alerts to only certain types of cleans?
Yes. Tell us which jobs you want, such as end of tenancy or regular house cleans, and which you do not. You can change this any time by email.
What happens if several cleaners reply to the same post?
The poster chooses who they reply to, the same as anyone else in the group. We cannot promise you will win the job, only that you will see it.
How much does it cost after the free trial?
It is $5 NZD a month after your first two weeks free. There is no per-lead fee or commission, and you can cancel in any month.
How does the free trial work?
You add a card on Stripe’s secure checkout page, but nothing is charged for the first 14 days. After that it is $5 a month. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
Do I need an Ethelium website?
No. Lead alerts work on their own. If you have a website plan with us you can add them to it from the plan builder.
Is there an app?
No app to install. Alerts arrive by email, so they work on any phone and you reply to the post from wherever you read it.
