Landscaping Leads From NZ Community Posts

People turn to community groups when they want a tired garden redone, a new retaining wall, or a section landscaped after a build, and these jobs are usually bigger and better paid than a one-off task. Posts often include a rough idea of budget or timeframe, which helps you decide whether it suits your business before you reply. We watch Facebook groups, Neighbourly, Reddit and job boards across New Zealand and email you a link to the original post.

Landscaping leads: the posts we look for

  • Facebook groupLooking for someone to landscape our new build section in Hamilton, mostly bare dirt.
  • NeighbourlyNeed a quote to redo a tired front garden and path in Lower Hutt before summer.
  • RedditAnyone do retaining walls and planting in Napier, backyard slopes badly to the fence.
  • Job boardWant to turn a rough backyard into something usable in Dunedin, open to ideas.

Which landscaping jobs we send you

Jobs we watch for

  • Full section landscaping after a build. New builds with bare or rough sections are a common source of posts and tend to be larger jobs with a proper budget.
  • Garden makeovers and replanting. Tired or overgrown gardens that owners want redesigned and replanted are a good fit for a landscaping business.
  • Retaining walls and drainage. Posts about slopes, drainage problems or a retaining wall often need real experience and can lead to a sizeable job.
  • Paving and outdoor living areas. Requests for a new patio, path or outdoor area are common before summer and often pair with planting work.
  • Pre-sale garden tidy or redesign. Sellers wanting a garden to look its best for photos or an open home are often willing to spend to get it right.

Posts we leave out

  • Plant giveaway or swap posts. Someone offering free plants or cuttings from their own garden is not asking for landscaping work.
  • General gardening advice questions. Posts asking what to plant in a certain spot are seeking opinions, not a quote.
  • Tool or machinery hire requests. Someone asking to hire a digger or borrow equipment is planning to do the work themselves.

These are starting points. You tell us exactly what you want and what to skip.

Winning landscaping jobs from a post

  • Ask for photos and rough size. Landscaping quotes depend heavily on the site, so asking for a few photos and approximate dimensions before you visit saves everyone time.
  • Mention similar work you've done. A quick note about a comparable retaining wall or garden you've completed close by builds confidence faster than a generic reply.
  • Be upfront about a site visit. Most landscaping jobs need a proper look before a firm price, so say clearly that you'd like to come and measure up.

When landscaping posts come up

Landscaping posts tend to build through late winter and spring as people plan ahead of summer entertaining and new builds reach the point of needing a section finished. Posts also tend to follow heavy rain, when drainage or slope problems show up, and pick up again when people are getting a property ready to sell. Quieter months are often midwinter, when fewer people start outdoor projects.

Landscaping leads questions

How many landscaping leads will I get a month?

We can't promise a number. How many posts match depends on your area and the jobs you choose, and other landscaping businesses can see the same posts, so a fast, good reply matters.

Can I choose the size of job I want alerts for?

You tell us the kinds of landscaping jobs you want and don't want, and the towns or suburbs you cover, and you can change that any time by email.

Is there a contract or commission?

No. It's $5 NZD a month after two weeks free, with no commission on jobs and no fee per lead. You can cancel in any month.

What happens if there are no matching posts some weeks?

That can happen, since we can't promise a set number of leads. How often you hear from us depends on your chosen job types and areas, and matching posts as they come up.

How does the free trial work?

You add a card on Stripe’s secure checkout page, but nothing is charged for the first 14 days. After that it is $5 a month. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.

Do I need an Ethelium website?

No. Lead alerts work on their own. If you have a website plan with us you can add them to it from the plan builder.

Is there an app?

No app to install. Alerts arrive by email, so they work on any phone and you reply to the post from wherever you read it.
