Moving leads from community groups, emailed to you

People moving house almost always ask their local community group for a recommendation before they book anyone, whether it's a full house move, a single piece of furniture, or a flat share splitting up. These posts tend to name a date and a rough load size, which makes them easy to quote on. We watch for that wording and email you the post with a link, so you can reply with your own availability.

Moving leads: the posts we look for

  • Facebook groupMoving from a two bedroom flat in Papakura to Hamilton next month, need a mover with a decent truck.
  • NeighbourlyAnyone know a reliable furniture mover in Dunedin? Just a couch and a bed to shift across town.
  • RedditLooking for movers in Tauranga for end of November, three bedroom house, no heavy appliances.
  • Job boardFlat share breaking up in Lower Hutt, need someone to move one person's furniture to a new place.

Which moving jobs we send you

Jobs we watch for

  • Full house moves. Shifting an entire household between addresses, often with a fixed settlement date.
  • Single item or furniture moves. A couch, bed or appliance that needs moving without booking a full house move.
  • Flat and student moves. Smaller loads for flatmates and students shifting between flats or at the end of a lease.
  • Office and small business moves. Shifting desks, stock or equipment when a business changes premises.
  • Interstate and long-distance moves. Posts asking for a mover who can do a longer trip between regions or cities.

Posts we leave out

  • Storage unit recommendations. People asking where to store belongings rather than asking for a mover.
  • Packing material questions. Requests for boxes or packing tips rather than a move itself.
  • Real estate or rental advice. General questions about finding a new house or flat, with no move to quote on.

These are starting points. You tell us exactly what you want and what to skip.

How it works

01

Tell us your jobs and area

Fill in the form: the work you want, anything to leave out, and the towns or suburbs you cover.

02

The bot watches

It reads new posts in Facebook community groups, Neighbourly, Reddit and job boards for ones that match.

03

You get an email

Each match lands in your inbox with a link to the post, so you can reply straight away.

Winning moving jobs from a post

  • Ask about access and stairs early. Moving quotes change a lot with lift access, stairs and parking, so ask about these in your reply rather than after you've quoted.
  • Confirm the date straight away. Moving posts are often tied to a fixed settlement or lease date, so confirm you can do that date before going into detail.
  • Mention what size truck or crew you run. Saying whether you can handle a studio move or a full three bedroom house helps the poster judge if you're the right fit without asking.

When moving posts come up

Moving posts tend to follow the rental and school calendar, with a noticeable lift around the end of the year and over summer when leases turn over and families move before a new school year. Posts also tend to pick up around the start and end of each month, when most tenancies and settlements fall due.

Moving leads questions

Can I set the size of job I want?

Yes. You tell us whether you want full house moves, single item jobs, or both, along with the towns you cover, and you can change this any time by email.

Do you guarantee a certain number of moves?

No. We can't promise a number of leads, and other moving businesses in the same groups can see the same posts, so replying quickly and well matters.

How quickly are posts sent to me?

We don't promise a response time for any single post. Once a matching post appears, it's emailed to you with a link to the original, and you reply to the poster yourself.

What's the cost?

Two weeks free to try it, then a flat $5 NZD a month after that. There's no fee per lead, no commission on any move you book, and you can cancel in any month.

How does the free trial work?

You add a card on Stripe’s secure checkout page, but nothing is charged for the first 14 days. After that it is $5 a month. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.

Do I need an Ethelium website?

No. Lead alerts work on their own. If you have a website plan with us you can add them to it from the plan builder.

Is there an app?

No app to install. Alerts arrive by email, so they work on any phone and you reply to the post from wherever you read it.
