Pest control leads emailed when someone has a pest problem

Pest control posts tend to be urgent and specific: a wasp nest near the back door, ants across the kitchen bench, or mice heard in the ceiling at night. These jobs are good ones because the poster usually wants the problem gone quickly and is not trying to fix it themselves. We watch Facebook groups, Neighbourly, Reddit and job boards across New Zealand for these requests and email you the ones matching your suburbs and job types, with a link to the original post.

Pest control leads: the posts we look for

  • Facebook groupDoes anyone know someone who can remove a wasp nest from our roof in Napier?
  • NeighbourlyGetting ants in the kitchen every summer in Papakura, who can treat this properly?
  • RedditThink we have mice in the ceiling in our Dunedin villa, need someone to sort it.
  • Job boardLooking for a cockroach treatment before we move into a new rental in Hamilton.

Examples of the kind of posts we look for, written for this page.

Which pest control jobs we send you

Jobs we watch for

  • Wasp and bee nest removal. Posts about an active nest near a house, deck or garden that needs removing safely.
  • Ant infestations. Requests to treat ants inside the kitchen, bathroom or along skirting boards.
  • Rodent control. Posts about mice or rats heard or seen in walls, ceilings or outdoor areas.
  • Cockroach treatment. Requests to clear roaches from a kitchen, rental or newly bought house.
  • Pre-sale pest inspections. Sellers or buyers wanting a pest check or treatment before settlement.

Posts we leave out

  • Garden plant pests. Posts about aphids, slugs or other pests on plants, which usually belong with gardening rather than household pest control.
  • Commercial contract tenders. Businesses asking for formal ongoing pest contracts for warehouses or offices.
  • General pest-product questions. Posts just asking what spray or trap to buy, rather than asking for a business to do the job.

These are starting points. You tell us exactly what you want and what to skip.

Winning pest control jobs from a post

  • Ask what pest and where. A quick question about the type of pest and its location, such as roof cavity or kitchen, lets you judge the job before quoting.
  • Mention safety around children or pets. If your treatment is safe around kids or animals, say so plainly, since many posters mention a family or pet in the same post.
  • Offer a rough timeframe for treatment to take effect. Being honest about how long an ant or rodent problem takes to clear sets expectations and builds trust in your first reply.

When pest control posts come up

Wasp nest posts tend to appear through summer as nests grow active, while ant requests often follow warm, dry stretches when ants move indoors looking for food. Rodents are reported more often in autumn and winter as mice and rats move into houses for warmth. Cockroach and general pest posts come up fairly steadily through the year, with less obvious seasonal pattern.

Lead alerts does not check licensing. You are responsible for holding any licence your work requires. We simply email you posts matching the jobs and suburbs you tell us.

Can I set alerts for only certain pests?

Yes. Tell us which pests you treat, such as wasps, ants or rodents, and which jobs you do not want, and we only email matching posts.

What areas can I cover?

Any towns or suburbs you choose. You tell us where you work and we watch for posts in those areas across Facebook groups, Neighbourly, Reddit and job boards.

How do I cancel if it is not working for me?

Email us any time. It is a simple $5 NZD monthly subscription after your two weeks free, with no contract and no cancellation fee.

How does the free trial work?

You add a card on Stripe’s secure checkout page, but nothing is charged for the first 14 days. After that it is $5 a month. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.

Do I need an Ethelium website?

No. Lead alerts work on their own. If you have a website plan with us you can add them to it from the plan builder.

Is there an app?

No app to install. Alerts arrive by email, so they work on any phone and you reply to the post from wherever you read it.
